The Revitalizing Rain fed Agriculture Network (RRA Network – www.rainfedindia.org) has initiated project “Special Programme for promotion of Integrated Farming in Tribal Areas” with the help of District administration on Agriculture, Horticulture, Livestock, and Fisheries in a convergent mode. WASSAN is anchoring this thematic node within the network. Integrated Farming System program intends to realize the sustainable growth potential of Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture (Vegetables), Livestock and Critical Irrigation. The program aims at enhancing production, food security and household level income through value addition and market linkage by establishing and monitoring effectively the seed systems, pest and disease surveillance protocols, livestock vaccination systems for reducing mortality.

Special Programme for promotion of Integrated Farming in Tribal Areas project uses technology to improve Data Collection in the field, disseminate information about best practices to the household, create reports and enhance Data Management about Households and Integrated Farming. WASSAN has partnered with MS Mobile Technologies Pvt Ltd (mSpace) to develop Integrated Farming Solution to help through the implementation of the Program.

Integrated Farming Solution has two components, a Mobile Application and a Web Application. Mobile Application is used in the field to collect Information and Data bout Households, their Integrated Farming Activities (Agriculture, Horticulture, Livestock, and Fisheries) and the practices followed for each of these activities by the Households. This data is then used by the Web Application to create Reports, understand the Farming Trends and advise Farmers.
